after releasing his heavens ep, chicago skyway is back on mos deep with another epic release, ranging from melodic deepness to wild-jackin dance floor-madness. check! the lager ep kicks off with bad driver, a raw and solid chicago-banger with an irresistible driving bass-line, rattling beats and atmospheric strings. for lager nord on the flipside chicago skyway teams up with his compadre dcook, delivering an emotional and dreamy classical detroit techno influenced track. lager is reworked by steven tang, another rising star in chicagos contemporary electronic-music scene, known for his obsolete technology imprint and his verged sessions on aestatic audio. stevens obsolete technology remix focuses on lush orchestrated strings and deep synths flowing over a massive foundation of thumping beats

the focus energy / motive order twelve inch takes seamss lush electronica in a new direction. having captured the essence of the berlin summertime with the tourist ep, seams returns with and altogether more dancefloor orientated release. driven by a desire to make audiences at his live shows dance, a much more propulsive sound manifests itself across the two tracks, both built from the same ingredients but taking them in two very different directions. focus energys minimal percussion and vocal stabs pushes seamss sound further towards the techno production hinted at in hung markets, whereas motive order rearranges focus energys parts into a much more dense wall of sound, filled with arpeggios and noise, evoking the sound of the border community fold.

the first world unknown 12 inch kicks off with a slamming piece of prototype house from glasgows naum gabo aka jonnie wilkes from optimo and his production partner james savage. showing that a relatively low pace doesnt mean any drop in energy levels and dancefloor pump power, whop! cracks along like something from an alternate reality version of 1980’s chicago. its as easy to imagine it rocking the house at medusas or the box as it is to envision it in the present day soundtracking some kind of bizarro fetish party or a particularly intense session at berghain’s lab-oratory. this is jacking in the true sense of the word. on the flip side italian born berlin resident franz underwear ups the tempo with a stunning piece of slamming european musclebeat. shades of ibiza 88-89 pervade here, the kind of pumping, chunky synth action, teutonic vocal exhortations and vaguely menacing but ultimately benign vibe that sent thousands of potty european kids totally round the bend and changed the world of dance music forever.

finally ! the new ep from gopher. this one is a follow up from a bunch of remixes that alex had released over the last few last months for autokratz, etienne de crecy, light year, alb, pacific & sovnger. it gives us a good idea musically of what his album with patrick devin could be about !! some of the reactions about these remixes were >amazing< (boys noize), >brilliant< (groove armada), >absolutely love it< (david, autokratz), >quality !< (spiller), >favorite track !< (reset !), >on adore, ça tue< (soulwax)… ok, >invasion< is electronic music, but above all, thats f… good music ! vintage synths, harmonies, vocoder and other surprises ! who are the invaders? if they are as fresh as they seem, then we welcome them with open arms! >virages< takes us where the mastery of alex is well known. a track more radical, more oriented towards the dance floor. a funk and dirty bass line that drives until the arrival of a big 303 lead. mmmmh, yes !

we are happy to have a follow up of m.in on trapez ltd in collaboration with his fellow mate jonas fahz. the duo has released together already under their pseudonym of mucky pups on the trapez ltd 100 anniversary compilation in may. their a-side welcome to my house features again a jack track, produced and written this time by a whole team including: m.in, jonas fahz, peter eilmers and featuring nick maurer on vocals. bringing together old school and new school this was also the idea with m.in s debut a-side track teach me house . welcome to my house instead has more of a live jammed attitude to it... in this respect it is meaner, rougher and tougher as the predecessor! the alienated and twisted voice of nick maurer adds a psychedelic feeling that keeps you making funny faces to yourself . delgardo has been a long time favourite of m.in and jonas, it is an approved dance floor track, and indeed a slow moving... but funky rocker. fuelled by vocal snippets and fx sounds... the beat goes non stop beat non stop ! elephant blues is the favourite track of m.in and a bit of a mad and deadpan track. fitting very well to the actual chart breaking tunes that spread like a virus in the underground scene, this could be the most modern of the three tracks. equipped with a strong drive, whipping its percussion line into oblivion it is a sexy track. the original 3 tracks are Êsupported by alex piccini with a cool post detroit remix of welcome to my house and well as heartik who has speeded up elephant blues turning it into a cool techno- rush of a track.

the 40 thieves turn up in lengs back garden for a bit of late night skulduggery. kicking off side-a with >backward love<, a deep wobble of dub guitars, weird out fx, large 80s synth lines and lovely throbbing bass, more than enough to get people freaky. on side-b, >crystal mountain thunder< has a genius intro of ambient electronic atmosphere, which gives way to another slug of late-night dub wonkiness, with massive guitars and a hefty drumkit. as expected, a meaty joint of late night disco, for the murkier end of the dance-floor. we hear an album is coming up and if it matches the quality of this release then weve got a veritable treat on its way. check!

the new leena welcomes a very new guest to the mobilee family - belgian born jona - who having been discovered by get physical in 2005 has since had a series of strong releases on labels such as supplement facts, planet e and resopal. a born musician, jona originally studied the guitar and was heavily influenced by blues and jazz music, until he fell in love with electronic music and graduated from the school of audio engineering. his wealth of musical training has supported his desire to continually explore new sound perspectives and forge is own and unique sound signature, something not so common in the electronic music world of today. >this time< is a three track strong ep that takes brings together a variety of musical themes. whilst >drifting away< and title track >this time< both have grooving bass lines perfect to shake up the dance floor, >resonate< has layers of drifting synths creating more of a dreamy summers day atmosphere. a debut release from an artist we hope to be seeing a lot more of in the future….enjoy

for the first album ever being released on ki we invited biodub, a producer/dj from the north of germany, who impressed us with his fusion of dub, techno, electronica and is a musician throughout. bringing in his experience as the drummer of instrumental band noetics and based on a minimalistic foundation, his tracks are playful in a microscopically way. in between deep bass lines and characteristic dub chords, various sounds coming from field recording sessions and sometimes also acoustic instruments, making this piece of music extremely warm and alive. biodub tries to transform visual impressions into his music. he finds most of these impressions in nature but sometimes also in machines or buildings in connection with their environment. the album is equally comfortable on the dance floor as in the living room. but you would rather enjoy his music on an open field in the nature than on your couch. the album will be released as a full 2 x12 inch lp, and cd in folded hardcover with photography, graphic and layout coming from ki s amélie kai and since it leaves so much space for interpretation, there will be a 12 inch-single with remixes of stereociti and koi.

new label by third ear records and what a cool first release!!! groovemental is bringing explosive jazz versions of two classic dance tracks! side x: dumb machines version of theo parrish,s falling up is based on the carl craig version of the track rather than the version recorded by theo. one of the biggest house tracks of the 2000s and a recognised classic. dumb machines have introduced words. the word falling is intoned throughout the track and the second stanza from louis macneice,s poem snow is recited. side y: written by tori amos. dumb machine,s version is based on the armand van helden remix. he created an irresistible dance groove, selected a few choice vocal samples, which became part of the clubbers lexicon, to create one of the biggest dance records of the 90s. dumb machines have gone back to tori amos lyric, taken various lines from the lyric and cut and pasted them together. two very inspiring jazz tracks for the house and techno generation, and for everyone else too of course! been on high rotation since we got it in stock!! recommende

gerd is delivering at the moment! after releases on clone royal oak, philpot, a big re-issue on rejected, great remixes on 4lux and delusions of grandeur its time for him to release on his own 4lux label! a massive chicago influenced track called h.o.u.s.e. featuring the voice of l.b. bad, the prince of dance music. this track was originally penned in 1994 when gerd had elbee over to tour the benelux. the track was released on an obscure limited edition white label only back then, but here a new rework of these old recordings. 2011 sees the track remixed by gerd himself and he takes the tune into rough & uncompromising analogue territory with filthy synth bassline and relentless tr808 action. seriously good track!! jakob korn, arttu and neville watson are on remix duty and deliver some fresh remix that complete this record. recommended!

the brilliantly monikered big strick - familial elder to omar s and responsible for the odd killer release on his younger cousins fxhe imprint - belatedly sates the appetite of record collectors keen to indulge in his recent album detroit heat with a six track selection of the choicest cuts spread across this twelve inch. seemingly drawing influence from a myriad of motor city influences, detroit heat impressively flits between murky deep house, tracky techno and hypnotic jack-tracks. like many of his contemporaries, strick is a sucker for cement mixer production - that distinctly detroitian sound where every beat, groove or bassline sounds like the master tapes have been marinated in grit. that trademark sound, alongside a solid selection of floor-friendly grooves, makes detroit heat an excellent addition to the motor city house canon. the rubbery spinal atmospherics of >under tone< and the tony coates vocally assisted jack of >maybe 1 day< are particular highlights!

after a longer break berliner frank mueller and london based ulrich schnauss have surfaced from their studio labyrinth to present the beroshima longplayer >polyphonication<. following a string of eps and remixes the fourth beroshima album was long overdue! it continues to explore the stylistic frame defined by the recent successful releases on cocoon, soma and mueller records and yet manages to surpass the expectations set by these skilfully crafted productions. beroshima defy genre boundaries and incorporate a wide range of sonic colours out of a studio filled with current and vintage equipment whilst also drawing from long term experience on the live and dj circuit. ten tracks that deliver state of the art dance music with more than just a touch of funk which never lose the spirit of exploration

tuccillo is a rare producer as he lives and works in ibiza all year round rather than flies in for the summer. the white island is without doubt the most overused and abused place on earth for dance music promotion, but beneath the glam superficial surface a real scene of native island talent is emerging. so when it came to making an ep for 2020vision we pushed the artist as far as we felt he could go, to explore new untried directions and show his diversity. tuccillo showed his true spirit and worked though a few knockbacks from our a/r team until we were happy we had the best ep possible at this moment

in just a matter of months, life and death has swiftly established itself as purveyors of quality contemporary dance music, made by artists who would undoubtedly make anyone s short list of who i d like to invite to my afterparty . it seems only fitting then that with their newest release they ve recruited the undisputed kings of late night mayhem and madness for a paen tribute to that beautiful party after the party, the continuation of all things good and twisted.. the afterparty itself. not to take the issue of such a joyful celebration lightly, dop has gone on secret missions over the last 6 months, quietly (and often not so quietly) infiltrating afterparties worldwide and secretly extracting pituitary secretions from the rowdiest party goers at each of them. they then took these secretions, burned them in a special voodoo ceremony and immediately went into the studio to create a fitting tribute to the after-hours festivities we all hold so dear. once that was complete, friends were invited and even more deviants came to the party for some dirty late night remix action. clockwork (who s recently released it s you again on hot creations has already been the soundtrack to many an after party) are here, french wolf+lamb collaborator le loup is here, mas collective (who recorded on seminal nyc label strictly rhythm) is here and marius & david are here too.. everybody giving it their own special flavor. what an afterparty indeed.

after a flurry of winter releases, benoit & sergio return to dfa with the >principles< ep–beach boys techno for summer nights. following in the footsteps of their >boy trouble< and >where the freaks have no name< eps, benoit & sergios >principles< continues to explore underground pop sensibilities in the context of the big-room dance floor

with its corroded, live recorded sound and relentless machinedrum, le coq is a trip to the shadowy, not to say drunk side of dance music. as an acid statement this track is right on the money without ever submitting to any ground rules of vintage acid. truly envelope-pushing electronic wizardry with a dark edge. stripped down to a bare minimum, the flip side hollywood goblin evokes the linear pulse of early body music, while the lead synthesizer adds a touch of cabaret voltairesque arpeggio magic. universal rejection was established in stockholm, sweden in 2011. the label is the collective effort of a closed circle of friends sharing the vision of a parallel universe trough raw, down to the core electronic dancemusic. every new release is a code. it represents a piece of what universal rejection is, and proves that the label will be in constant flux while at the same time always remaining true to itself.

they may have grown up in different generations on different sides of the atlantic, but one thing detroit master delano smith and irish up and comer gavin herlihy share in common is a disregard for boundaries. deftly slipping between the definitions of house and techno, both have carved names for themselves by ignoring the laylines of either genre to imprint their own inimitable stamp on dance music. on krypton factor the pair link talents to deliver an ep that is typically irreverent of trends or genres.

as we build up a head of stream moving into the summer months, we turn our attentions firmly to the dance-floor with two bass-heavy hitters from subterra. those of you familiar with the guildford residing dj / producer / promoter will already be well aware of his drum & bass pedigree. clocking up releases on ram’s subsidary label frequency as well as dispatch and sudden def subterra has a staunch following that regularly attend his rotation events across the south east of england. >gutter mouth< is as dirty as the title suggests. swirling pads and percussion build the suspense before an explosion of contorted bass sounds and snappy high end beats. >cold shoulder< is a collaboration with long term dj / production partner bazil. with its warm atmospheric opening it creates a sinister mood before tearing into a stepping bass-heavy workout. dj support from goldie, jubei, lenzman, spectrasoul, london elektricity & dlr & octane.

the production duo of dual process, aka dj java and dj ben j, have been in the drum & bass scene since before it was being called the drum & bass scene. initially as ravers, then djs, and now as producers, they have been witness to the progression of the various sub genres that are now present in todays spectrum of drum & bass music. after releases individually and collectively on several different labels dual process are ready to launch their own label aimed at the particular sub genre that they have successfully played in raves, clubs and on radio for the last few years. straight up, dance floor, jump up is whats going to be on offer from audio hostage records, and to kick things off we have two heavy slices of face churning, bass ridden, ignorance capable of setting mcs to self destruct and levelling any sound system. both tracks are getting heavy support from a range of djs and radio stations such as, hype, crissy criss, taxman, nicky black market, brockie, ss, jack frost, ash attack, hoodlum, logan d, profile, pappa g, vital elements, spice, origin fm and kool fm.

behind nomaton hides one of uppsalas true techno veterans. erik möller made himself a global name in the beginning of 2000 as the stripped down house musics champion with releases on labels including force tracks and sub static. he has played all over the world - from ibiza to tbilisi, and the audience at the legendary berlin clubs ostgut and watergate has been able to dance to his live sets. as unai his subtle technopop was hailed by all sorts of camps: from new york times to the wire, from house-djs to to pop connoisseurs. as he now comes forward with a new name, it is very much a return to roots. with nomaton he takes us on a trip to the dark heart of techno. a heavy-bass thumping heart full of dirty basslines, grinding rhythms and ecstatic minimalism.

cisco cisco reappears on the spanish label apersonal music with more nudisco quality from the portuguese duo. 2 original tracks, higher the perfect weapon for the techydisco lovers and brothers in arms freshing up the release with an enchanting laid-down groove. a solid offer that reaffirms the promising relationship between this rising artist and apersonal, under which they debuted last year. apersonal always has excellent offers on the remix department. so its no surprise to see names as greg wilson on their catalog, a producer regarded as one of the most important figures on the uk dance scene. remixing higher he gives a different edge and tempo to the ep, with a faster version for the higher times.

marius takes a break from his recent studio lp work with prins thomas and delivers another killer release on maxi discs. continuing his journey into ny influenced dance music, he unleashes >glow of filter & dub< an epic 10 min ride into the musical world of legendary clubs like the paradise garage and body & soul that inspired him. it even has an old school drum break to drive your dance floor crazy. you can smell the sweat on this one - work it! on the flip, deep house heads 6th borough project work their subtle magic on >love gun< and create a house vibe that is deeper than deep. while disco deviant dicky trisco strips back >glow of filter & dub< to the bare essentials and works it to the max in a tribute to early tony humphries proto - house style cuts like ma foom bey.

netto houz are back with an extended and newly mastered version of >bad man speaks<, first released on their album >room 7107<, published on ladomat 2000 in 1998. >the prince of dance< elbee bad explains the difference between house and house music to an oldschool four-four- rhythm running on 113 bpm. the flipside of the 12 inch contains the previously unreleased deep house summer track >knuggles<, which builds on beautiful chords with a live rhodes piano jamming to it. berlin based knuggels recordings, run by dj kriton together with netto houz, is planning further to release new and previously unreleased material by netto houz as well as edits and remixes of their tracks from the 90ties.

celebrated spanish techno artist ascii.disko returns to biatch corp for release number 13 on the label with two divergent remixes from taster peter and jussi-pekka. the original version is an intriguing slice of rough hewn techno, exactly the kind of ruggedness on the dance floor ascii.disko has become well-known for. rising italian techno producer taster peter significantly re-works the track in to a dark, peak hour chugger complete with rolling drums and polyrhythmic glee that cannot be easily ignored. rounding out the three-track release is a remix from finnish star jussi-pekka. giving the source material a wild ride that combines a shuffling house beat, funky latin percussion, and even a slight hint of yello. his re-interpretation strips away the industrial strength techno edge of the original and replaces it with a warm, inviting deep house vibe that will get dance floors jumping for joy.
